Roche Vietnam (Diagnostics) has supported two community infrastructure projects in the Mekong Delta, providing clean drinking water for students in Vinh Long and safer transportation for residents in Dong Thap through employee donations.

The projects were funded through Roche Children's Walk program, an annual employee fundraising initiative launched globally in 2003 and introduced in Vietnam in 2008. Nearly 300 Roche employees across Vietnam participated in fundraising activities in 2026, including charity garage sales and direct donations.

Within the 2026 program, a dedicated walk day was organized for employees and their families in Hanoi, Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City to encourage community involvement and strengthen connections among staff. Funds raised from the program support two Roche’s long-term community initiatives: providing safe drinking water in schools and building bridges in remote areas to improve transportation and local trade. .

In early October, Roche Vietnam partnered with VinaCapital Foundation (VCF) and the Vinh Long Department of Education and Training to donate a water filtration system to Hoa Thuan A Primary School in Hoa Thuan Ward, Vinh Long Province.

The system provides filtered drinking water for students and school staff.

Since partnering with VCF in 2022, Roche Vietnam has supported the installation of 13 school water filtration systems in provinces including Dak Lak, Quang Ngai, Ben Tre and Vinh Long. The systems have benefited nearly 6,000 students, teachers and school staff, according to the company.

On Oct. 16, Roche Vietnam and Hope Foundation inaugurated Hope Bridge No. 457 in Hoa Dinh 1 Hamlet, Phong Hoa Commune, Dong Thap Province. Measuring 24 meters long and 3.5 meters wide, the bridge replaces an old, narrow structure that had deteriorated and raised safety concerns.

The new bridge is expected to provide a safer route to school for children and improve transportation for residents.

The project marks the fifth bridge Roche Vietnam has supported through its "Bridging to Future" initiative with Hope Foundation. Four previous projects were carried out in the Mekong Delta and Son La Province.

Ricky He, general manager of Roche Vietnam, said access to clean water and safe transportation directly affects children's health, education and daily lives.

"Essential needs such as clean drinking water or safe travel conditions directly impact the health, learning, and daily life of children," he said.

"Through the Roche Children's Walk program, we hope to turn employee contributions into concrete impact, while partnering with organizations to implement projects aligned with local practical needs, thereby creating long-term values for the community."

Roche Vietnam said it would continue working with VinaCapital Foundation and Hope Foundation on projects addressing local needs in healthcare, education and improving quality of life .

Founded in Basel, Switzerland, in 1896, Roche operates in more than 150 countries through its Diagnostics and Pharmaceuticals divisions, developing healthcare products and solutions across areas including oncology, infectious diseases and immunology.
